David Lee Roth overcame a self-inflected nose bashing during Van Halen's special performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! — and the second half of the band's set is now online.

A day after airing the two opening numbers, "Panama" and "Runnin' With the Devil," Kimmel debuted more of the set, treating viewers to "Hot for Teacher" (which you can watch above) and "Eruption" / "You Really Got Me," which you can see below. It all served as a fairly high-profile warm-up for the band's upcoming tour — and they'll get another chance with the other TV gig they have on the horizon, an April 2 visit The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

After checking out the portions of Van Halen's Kimmel set that aired March 31, members of the Van Halen faithful who find themselves deeply curious about the state of Roth's schnoz can view a pair of video clips that delve into his injury and come to very different conclusions regarding the cause. According to actor and publicist Joe Dolan, the singer was sliced by "a necklace with two sharp triangular pieces that appeared to be hand carved ivory," an argument he attempts to back up with a video titled "The Truth About the David Lee Roth Injury: Van Halen on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'"

Kimmel, however, offered a different explanation to his audience, replaying the accident in slow motion to show that it was actually the microphone stand that whacked into Roth's proboscis, leaving a gash serious enough to require 14 stitches. Quipped the host: "Do we think this is a good omen for the rest of the tour?"
