University Avenue Extension Finally Ready To Open

The city of Texarkana, Texas says they are ready to open the University Avenue extension in the north part of the city.A ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for this Friday at 11 a.m. The eastern extension of the road will open up a second way to get to and from the Bringle Lake area and the campus of Texas A&M University in Texarkana.

The project has faced some delays and was originally scheduled to be complete last fall. The new road will connect with Shillings Lane and east to Summerhill Road. You can also reach the Bringle Lake Campus on the west side of town via Richmond Road.
