The Iron Horse will be the mascot of the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope-Texarkana.The announcement was made by Chancellor Chris Thomason during the Community Coffee hosted by the College, as he unveiled an 8-foot image of the mascot in the center of the student center.  The development of the mascot began last spring and included input from student body, faculty, and the community. The iron horse was selected by a committee that reviewed more than 100 submitted suggestions.

The Iron Horse reflects on the history of the railroad to the development of Hope and Texarkana. It also ties local rural history to the advancements that have brought the area from relying on horse power to today’s modern technology.

The U of A Hope-Texarkana Shooting Sports Club will incorporate the Iron Horse patch onto their shooting vests, worn during competition.  Iron Horse shirts are available at the UACCH Foundation Store located in the Student Center on the Hope Campus and also on the Texarkana Campus.
