The University of Arkansas Community College in Hope is recognizing outstanding Alumni, Faculty, and Staff. Since 2000, UACCH has annually honored an outstanding alumnus.  This individual is someone who renders special and outstanding service, distinction, and recognition to the College through outstanding service and significant contributions to his or her community, state and/or nation.  This year’s recipient of the Outstanding Alumnus Award is Jack Daniels.

 Daniels, an outstanding musician, father, and farmer, attended UACCH in August of 1989 to pursue training in diesel mechanics, after all, someone must keep the tour bus and farm equipment running.  After his UACCH Education in diesel mechanics; he enrolled in Southern Arkansas University and completed a bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a major in voice and a minor in piano.  Among other things, he has toured nationally and internationally with David Phelps and the Gaither Vocal Band.  He, his wife, and their six beautiful children live on a 138 acre farm they call “Miracle Farms,” just a few miles from Hope at Bodcaw.
The College also honors an outstanding faculty member at UACCH.  This is an award for his or her dedication to UACCH and its students.  The recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Member Award is selected by his or her peers and recognized during the Faculty/Staff Luncheon.  The 2014 Outstanding Faculty member is Ken LeJeune.  LeJeune has served as the Director of Respiratory Therapy and has excelled in the classroom.  He has worked diligently to enhance UACCH’s Respiratory Therapy Program and fulfill the vision of the institution. He began teaching at UACCH in 1989.  He has excelled in his ability to help students expand their knowledge and educational experience at UACCH. 
 
This is the fourteenth year for UACCH to recognize an outstanding staff member.  The Spirit of Excellence in Service Award recognizes, encourages, and rewards the staff member who has brought credit to UACCH through his or her exemplary efforts in applying the spirit and skills necessary to perform services for the College, community, state, and nation in areas of public interest.  This year’s recipient of the Spirit of Excellence in Service Award is Casey Curtis.
 
Casey has served the students at UACCH since 2003 and currently serves as the Advertising and Publications Coordinator. Casey has enhanced the college’s print and publication image through his award winning gift for graphic design.  He also manages the College’s growing social media presence and often serves as the college’s photographer at events.
