Bowie County Sheriff's Deputies say two male suspects have been arrested in connection with charges of cruelty to non-livestock animals.

Authorities say they were called to reports of animal abuse at a business on Highway 82 in De Kalb earlier this month. The business owner met with deputies and told them he had arrived at work to find beer cans lying around the yard of his establishment. A review of the security camera allegedly showed two white male suspects in the yard of the business after hours chasing a puppy around the yard and and abusing it by tossing it around and throwing rocks at it.

The video also allegedly showed them leaving, then returning a short time later, to continue to harass several puppies at the location. Information led deputies to arrest two suspects in connection with this crime. Arrested and charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals was Alan Cole Willis, 20, of De Kalb and also an unnamed juvenile.

Authorities claim that Willis admitted to chasing and throwing rocks at a puppy and the juvenile was interviewed and a statement was taken from him.

Willis turned himself in to authorities and was booked into the Bi-State Jail and bond was set at $15,000. The juvenile suspect also turned himself in at the Bowie County Juvenile Detention Center. The investigation continues.
