"Rolling Stone" recently polled their readers to come up with a list of the Top 10 Progressive Rock Bands of All Time.  They released the results yesterday, and here they are:

1.)  Rush
2.)  Pink Floyd
3.)  Genesis
4.)  Jethro Tull
5.)  King Crimson
6.)  Yes
7.)  Emerson, Lake and Palmer
8.)  Tool
9.)  Mars Volta
10.)  Dream Theater

"Rolling Stone" points out that only TWO of these bands are in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which is a travesty.  Those two are Pink Floyd and Genesis.

Five others:  Rush, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Yes and Emerson, Lake and Palmer have been eligible since the mid-'90s.

Dream Theater becomes eligible in 2014... Tool is up in 2017... and Mars Volta, the newest group on the list, isn't eligible for the Hall until 2027.

Acts become eligible for the Rock Hall 25 years after they released their first recording... and that can be an album, an EP or even a single.

(What do you think?  Personally, I love Rush at the top of the list, but it's disappointing that Dream Theater didn't do better than 10th.)
