Texas Middle School female STEM students ruled during the recent East Texas Regional Science Fair.

The competition took place on March 2 in Kilgore, TX.  An estimated 80 students from the area participated in the event.

Madelyn Bixler was a Second Place category winner in the Junior Biological Science category for her project “Whose More Ambidextrous.”

Darbi Davis was named Fourth Place category winner in Junior Biological Science for “Duckweed – Desirable or Deadly.” Davis also received a $100 monetary prize from the Water Environment Association for her project.

Reagan Raney earned Fourth Place in the Junior Biological Science category for “The Effect of Rotational Grazing on Water Infiltration Rates.”

All will now advance to the Exxon Mobil Texas Science & Engineering Fair in San Antonio, TX on March 23-25.  They will also be able to enter their projects into Broadcam MASTERS, a national level middle school science and engineering fair competition.
