After reading about Time Magazine's candidates for "Person of the Year", I am starting to think that the Mayans may have been right after all.

The Time Magazine Person of the Year could very well be E.L. James, the author of "50 Shades of Grey", or Psy, the guy that did the song "Gangnam Style".

It could happen, remember that in 2011 Time chose "the protester" as Person of the Year.

Who would you choose in this list of candidates?

There are some serious names in the running too, including Obama, Mitt Romney, and Bill & Hillary Clinton. Also making the finalist list were New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, billionaire Sheldon Adelson, Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, Syrian President Bashar Assad, Austrian dare-devil Felix Baumgartner, V.P. Joe Biden, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Communist party member Bo Xilai, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Olympian Gabrielle Douglas, ECB Chief Mario Draghi, British Olympian Mo Farah, women's rights activist Sandra Fluke, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, the Higgs Boson, rapper Jay-Z, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the Mars Rover, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, Egyptian president Mohamed Morsy, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, pot smoking Olympian Michael Phelps, Punk Rock group Pussy Riot, Supreme Court Judge John Roberts, Karl Rove, Congressman Paul Ryan, Burma's Aung San Suu Kyi and Thein Sein, Undocumented Immigrants, Chinese leader Xi Jinping, or Malala Yousafzai the 15-year-old Pakistani girl that was shot for wanting to go to school.

Time Magazine has a poll on their website and so far, the people voting think that Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy should be the 2012 Person of the Year.
