Texarkana Woman Arrested in Connection With Homicide

The Texarkana Arkansas Police say a local woman is dead and another person behind bars after an alleged shooting incident.Police were called to a residence on South Valley Drive yesterday evening on a possible dead body. Officers located a deceased female outside the home. Evidence at the scene indicated the victim had apparently been shot.

After a brief investigation, detectives arrested 65 year old Virginia Hyatt of Texarkana, Arkansas. She is charged with Capital Murder a Class Y Felony and is in the Bi-State Justice Jail.

The investigation continues into this crime, but authorities say it is an isolated incident, the result of an apparent ongoing dispute between the victim and the suspect.

The victim's body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy, and the name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
