The Texarkana, Texas Police Department has shared its traffic enforcement locations for the week.

This week, traffic officers will be concentrating their efforts on St. Michael Drive. Remember the speed limit is lower in the areas of the road that have more businesses and also have a greater chance of someone pulling out of a parking lot in front of you.

Here is a recent survey of the Texarkana area traffic habits.

The Texarkana, Texas Police Department regularly conduct these surveys to help identify the locations in Texarkana with the most serious traffic problems. The information collected along with accident reports determine where the Texarkana traffic officers are most needed to work. These are the places that you can expect to see officers concentrating their efforts on over the next few weeks.

Richmond Road.-highest location for traffic accidents.

Seatbelt - 35 percent non-compliance

Speed - 30 percent in compliance

34 percent 1-5 mph over

34 percent 5-15 mph over

2 percent 15 mph+

The top speed during survey was 56 mph in a 40 mph zone.

New Boston Road

Seatbelt - 40 percent non-compliance

Speed - 26 percent in compliance

30 percent 1-5 mph over

39 percent 5-15 mph over

5 percent 15 mph+

The top speed during survey was 60 mph in a 40 mph zone.

N. Stateline Ave.

Seatbelt - 35 percent non-compliance

Speed - 26 percent in compliance

35 percent 1-5 mph over

39 percent 5-15 mph over

0 percent 15 mph+

The top speed during survey was 54 mph in a 40 mph zone.

St. Michael Dr. - location with the highest non-compliance.

Seatbelt - 34 percent non-compliance

Speed - 9 percent in compliance

36 percent 1-5 mph over

41 percent 5-15 mph over

14 percent 15 mph+

The top speed during the survey was 72 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Mall Drive

Seatbelt - 27 percent non-compliance

Speed - 19 percent in compliance

19 percent 1-5 mph over

33 percent 5-15 mph over

29 percent 15 mph+

The top speed during survey was 78 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.

Seatbelt - 34 percent non-compliance

Speed - 25 percent in compliance

31 percent 1-5 mph over

42 percent 5-15 mph over

2 percent 15 mph+

The Texarkana, Texas Police Department will also be working traffic enforcement in these areas in the coming weeks.
