Texarkana, Texas City Council To Discuss Electric Rates

The Texarkana Texas City Council meets today at 6PM at City Hall. Among several agenda items, they will discuss electric rates.

Council members will consider a resolution denying the application for authority to increase rates submitted by Southwestern Electric Power Company, according to the City’s press release.

The council also will consider a resolution accepting HUD Section 108 Loan Guarantee Assistance in the amount of over $1.4 million relating to the Grim Hotel Restoration Project in downtown Texarkana, Texas.

Upcoming Joint City Meeting: The Texarkana Chamber of Commerce will host a “Joint Texarkana Community Committee” meeting with Texarkana, Arkansas on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Ark-Tex Council of Governments building located at 4808 Elizabeth Street. The meeting will be open to the public. The topic of discussion will be local current and future water needs.
