A convenience store clerk was uninjured after a robbery last night though a gun was fired.

On Tuesday, July 22, 2015 at 10 p.m., Texarkana, Ark., Police responded to the Country Store in the 1300 block of East 35th Street in reference to an aggravated robbery.

When officers arrived on scene, they located the store employee who advised them an unknown male wearing all black clothing and a ski mask entered the business and approached the counter demanding money from the register while displaying a handgun.

The store employee told officers he heard a single gunshot as he ran into the office for safety and to call 911. The employee said he was speaking with 911 operators when he observed the suspect on the security camera attempt to gain entry to the cash register behind the counter.

After the suspect was unsuccessful in gaining entry to the cash register and he then fled eastward on foot.
