Texarkana College will be able to meet its financial commitments in the upcoming school year.College President James Henry Russell also says all current programs and classes will continue through the Summer of 2013. Russell states the college was able to survive the 2011-2012 year because of an incredible amount of hard work and sacrifice by the faculty, staff, administration and board of trustees and the willingness of the students to pay for a larger portion of the cost of their education.

Mike Sandifur, President of the Board of Trustees, says expansion of the College’s tax district is vital for Texarkana College to continue offering quality, accessible academic and workforce education. Sandifur says its up to the community to decide at the polls this November if the college will be able to conintue offering opportunities after Summer 2013.

Voters of Bowie County Texas will decide in the General Election on November 6th, whether to approve expansion of the college’s tax base to include the entire county.
