DeMita Torrans, chairman of the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce board of directors, announced Monday that the group has hired former Domtar Mill Manager Warren “Buddy” Allen in an interim position as it searches for a permanent executive.

Allen has recently worked with the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce supporting the Business Retention and Expansion efforts in a volunteer capacity.

“To attract a person with Buddy’s experience and savvy in how our community and Chamber operate, is a huge success for the Chamber.” Torrans said. “He lends instant credibility and will allow us to continue without delay our current programs and events, while maintaining and building our relationship with our partners, elected officials and city staff.”

The Texarkana Chamber of Commerce supports over 900 businesses, governmental entities and individuals in the Ark-La-Tex region with economic development, advocacy, leadership and organization, with the stated mission “To enhance Texarkana USA’s quality of life by recruiting, welcoming, uniting and promoting business . . . we connect the dots.”
