Area Schools to Honor Our Veterans Nov. 11
Veterans Day is always observed on Nov. 11 with speeches and parades across the U.S. The holiday began as Armistice Day on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. There are several events planned for the Texarkana area on Wednesday Nov. 11, to honor our local veterans.

Memorial Day is about more than just cookouts, picnics, water fun, and a day off from school or work. It is about honoring our service men and women who have died while serving our country, and to remember those who served proudly and have since passed on.

On Monday Nov. 11, Texas Roadhouse will give lunch free to all active, former and retired military personnel from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
