Southern Arkansas University

The Southern Arkansas University Board of Trustees approved on Tuesday a bond proposal in the amount of $7.9 million through the Alumni Association for the construction of a new student resident hall that will help the University meet continued enrollment growth projections.

The new date has been set for the Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Memorial Program at Southern Arkansas University is Monday, January 29, 2018, at 6PM in Foundation Hall in Magnolia, Arkansas.

The Department of Engineering and Physics at Southern Arkansas University invites all to a public presentation by the renowned NASA astronaut, Lt. Col. Duane “Digger” Carey, in the Engineering Building atrium at 5PM February 13, 2018.

Janell Owens Morton has joined the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center at Southern Arkansas University as the center director. She comes to the ASBTDC from the Golden Triangle Economic Development Council, where she served as coordinator.

A campus-wide planning meeting for Southern Arkansas University’s response to the flooding in Texas is set for Wednesday, September 6 at 4PM in Grand Hall of the Reynolds Center. The following items are requested: diapers, baby wipes, bottled water, food, bedding, pet food and bowls, hand sanitizer, work gloves, trash bags, tarps, packages of socks and underwear (various sizes) and hygiene product

Southern Arkansas University and the University of Artemisa in Cuba will sign a historic agreement at 11AM Wednesday, August 9, in the rotunda of the State Capitol, formalizing an academic exchange between the two universities.

Tara Almand, assistant professor of nursing at Southern Arkansas University, was selected to the state’s 40 Nurse Leaders Under 40 list, which honors emerging nursing leaders in Arkansas who are younger than 40 years old.
