Southern Arkansas University is scheduled to recognize 125 graduate students and 170 undergraduates during three Fall Commencement ceremonies at 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018.

Making Magnolia Blossom’s annual fall Big Splash Saturday is scheduled for September 15, and volunteers from the campus and community are encouraged to register online at www.MagnoliaBlossom.org/Register.

Dr. Karen Landry of Texarkana, Texas, has been named chair of the Department of Nursing at Southern Arkansas University.

Dr. Trey Berry, president of Southern Arkansas University, was able to surprise Martha and Louis Blanchard with the unveiling of the new name on the side of SAU’s Business Building.

Southern Arkansas University, in partnership with the city of Magnolia and Columbia County, has announced the third annual Blue and Gold Day on Tuesday, Aug. 22, from 5PM to 7PM on the Magnolia Square. According to a press release, the Magnolia community is encouraged to wear blue and gold in support of SAU and also to come out and enjoy a great evening of fellowship with its citizens.

Dr. Trey Berry, president of Southern Arkansas University, told the SAU System Board of Trustees that enrollment of freshmen could again reach record numbers this fall, during the Board’s regular meeting Friday, Aug. 11, at SAU.

The Southern Arkansas University Board of Trustees on Monday unanimously adopted a resolution accepting the donation of a building on the Magnolia square to be used by the University and the community.

Southern Arkansas University’s chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) performed with great success at the State Leadership Conference in April by winning 36 individual and team awards and with 15 members qualifying to attend the national conference.
