Railfest

It was a fantastic weekend in downtown Texarkana with the 2nd Annual RailFest, and the 5th Annual Bandit Run. Making an appearance with this years Bandit Run, was none other than Buford T. Justice himself, and of course his son Junior, the jilted groom.

The results are in! All the master grillers offered up their very best in a competition to win the grand prize of $1,000 from Big Jake’s Barbecue. The envelope please….

Texarkana is bustling with activity today during Railfest 2012. One of the main attractions this weekend is the Seventh Annual Car Show sponsored by the Four States Auto Museum, located at 217 Laurel Street.

Whether you like spicy hot links, succulent beef brisket or the sauce slathered yumminess of ribs, there is something for every appetite at Railfest 2012.

Soon the smell of hickory smoke, and some of the best bbq ribs in the Ark-La-Tex will fill the streets of downtown Texarkana with the Big Jake's BBQ Rib Cook-off, part of the 2012 RailFest scheduled for May 12.

Well, I personally think it was a great turnout for the very first "Railfest" in downtown Texarkana, Arkansas, and I applaud all of those that worked so hard to make it happen. The BBQ Rib Cook-Off, the Beauty Pageant, the entertainment... Cheers!

Today was the first annual "Railfest" in downtown Texarkana. Me, and my buddy Fish entered the BBQ Rib Cookoff. We have won some awards with our cooking in the past, including the Blues and BBQ Festival a few years ago, but we didn't win this one. I think.
