T.I.S.D. Names 2012 Distinguished Alumni

The Texarkana Texas Independent School District will honor two of their own as the 2012 Distinguished Alumni during events scheduled for this Friday.Ethal Pauley Jones and Vicki Schultz are this year's honorees. Jones graduated from Dunbar High School Class of 1956. Schultz from Texas High School Class of 1974.

Jones during her career has served in many roles, from supervisor of student teachers at USC and East Texas State University(now Texas A&M University-Texarkana), also as teacher for the Department of Defense in West Germany, and as an administrator with T.I.S.D.

Schultz, a former trial attorney for the United States Department of Justice, runs the Workplace Theory and Policy Workshop at the Yale Law School, and has had numerous significant professional posts including visiting professor at Harvard Law School.

A student leadership breakfast will be held inside the Dan Haskins Student Center at Texas High School Friday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and a Distinguished Alumni Luncheon will be held at the Texarkana Country Club from 11:30 to 1 p.m., where the two women will be presented and awarded the honor.
