A man on the Arkansas-side of town was arrested this morning for allegedly making a false 9-1-1 call, claiming a shooting had occurred.

At 10 a.m. today, June 2, 2015, Texarkana, Ark., Police responded to the 500 Block of Orleans Street in reference to a 9-1-1 call of a shooting incident. When officers arrived, they determined that no shooting had occurred, nor were any weapons fired at the location.

The investigation led to Eldridge Chamblee, 37, who was located by T.A.P.D. detectives in the area, on foot, and in possession of a cellphone that was allegedly used to call 9-1-1 twice during the time the 9-1-1 operator received the call of the alleged shooting.

Chamblee was arrested and charged with "Communicating a False Alarm."
