Standoff Involving Man With Gun Ends Peacefully

Texarkana Texas Police say a standoff with an armed man ended without incident last night.Authorities were called to the 1500 block of West 10th Street around 4 p.m. yesterday evening on a call of a man with a gun whow as allegedly threatening to shoot people in the neighborhood.

The suspect fled into a residence and barricaded the doors after officers arrived on the scene.

The Texarkana Metro Swat Team were called in after the man refused to surrender. A chemical agent was eventually used to no avail in an attempt to flush the suspect out. The Swat Team eventually entered the residence around 11 p.m. and found the man hiding in a closet.

The man identified as 36 year old Tijuan Moore of Texarkana, Arkansas was taken into custody without incident and no injuries were reported. He is jailed awaiting bond on a charge of criminal trespass of a habitation, and other charges are pending.
