A campus-wide planning meeting for Southern Arkansas University’s response to the flooding in Texas is set for Wednesday, September 6 at 4PM in Grand Hall of the Reynolds Center. The following items are requested: diapers, baby wipes, bottled water, food, bedding, pet food and bowls, hand sanitizer, work gloves, trash bags, tarps, packages of socks and underwear (various sizes) and hygiene products.

According to a press release, these items can be brought to the Family Day celebration on Saturday, September 9. A collection area will be set up in front of the Blanchard Business Building where family bingo will take place under the large blue tent.

There will also be a trailer at each entrance to Wilkins Stadium starting at 5PM before the football game on Family Day.

People can also drop off items for flood cleanup buckets at the Wesley Student Center, 114 E. University, September 5 to September 8, between 8AM-5PM. Five-gallon plastic buckets with lids are needed, as well as: liquid laundry detergent (one 50-oz. or two 25-oz. bottles only); dish soap (16-28 oz. bottle, any brand); 1 can air freshener (aerosol or pump); 1 insect repellant spray (6-14 oz. aerosol or spray pump with protective cover); 50 clothespins; clothesline (one 100-foot or two 50-foot lines, cotton or plastic); 24-roll heavy-duty trash bags (33 to 45-gallon sizes); 5 dust masks; 2 pairs kitchen dishwashing gloves (for multiple uses); 1 pair work gloves (cotton with leather palm or all leather).
