You know the stereotype that soccer fans are violent? Well, a recent match in Brazil has done nothing to dispute that.

After a referee got into a fight with a player and stabbed him to death, enraged fans stormed the field, stoned the referee to death, decapitated him and then placed his head on a stake in the middle of the field.

After referee Jordan Silva gave player Josemir Santo Abreu a red card, the two got into a heated confrontation. Silva whipped out a knife and stabbed Abreu, who died while en route to the hospital.

News of Abreu’s death quickly reached the crowd, which "rushed into the field, stoned the referee to death and quartered his body." Then, they cut his body into pieces and placed his head on a stake.

Police quickly rounded up the suspects, who were identified thanks to a cell phone video which recorded the incident.
