Texarkana has grown over the years. Just think about all the stores, restaurants and businesses that have made Texarkana their home. I know lately there have been some businesses that have left the area but it has really grown for the most part.

And the way we shop has changed, thanks to the Internet. I also think we demand better customer service than in the past and I believe that is a good thing.

I moved here back in 1989 and I've seen so much growth since I've been here.

I found this great time-lapse video from Google's Earth Engine. You can type in any city and it will do a time-lapse from 1984 to the present. Pretty cool.

Below is the map of Texarkana. You can really see the growth if you zoom in a bit and change the speed to medium. The speed control is next to the play arrow under the year.

Google Earth Engine says on its YouTube Earth Outreach Channel that the two-minute video below was filmed using "millions of satellite images and trillions of pixels" and shows "Dubai’s artificial Palm Islands, the retreat of Alaska’s Columbia Glacier, the deforestation of the Brazilian Amazon and urban growth in Las Vegas from 1984 to 2012."
