The annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Texarkana is set for 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the Four States Fairgrounds in Texarkana, Ark. The Relay is a celebration of cancer survivors and a fun way to raise money to help find a cure for cancer. The relay will celebrate the lives of hundreds of local residents who have survived cancer, while offering the hope of finding a cure.

The event kicks off at 3:30 p.m. with the Survivors Lap where cancer survivors take a victory lap. A candlelight ceremony also takes place to honor cancer survivors and remember those who have lost the fight against this disease. Luminary bags for the ceremony can be purchased at the event.

There will be music, team fundraising activities, fun-themed laps and contests. Relay For Life is a family friendly, non-smoking, non-alcoholic event. There is no admission fee. You may register at the event or online: Relay For Life - Texarkana.

All funds raised during Relay For Life help support the American Cancer Society’s mission of eliminating cancer by helping people stay well, by helping people get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back.

Every day someone hears the words "you have cancer" and every day someone loses their battle with this awful disease. We all know someone who has been touched by this deadly disease. Relay for your family member, your friend, your coworker, or that stranger you pass in the parking lot. Relay so that one day nobody has to hear those words or lose that battle. Relay because we can be the voice of those who have lost theirs. Relay so that everyone knows we're not going down without a fight. Relay because you care!
