Hope, Ark., law enforcement authorities are searching for two suspects wanted in connection with a break-in and shooting incident in the Hempstead County town.

On Thursday, Sept. 3, at approximately 3AM, officers of the Hope Police Department responded to the 800 block of South Laurel in reference to two people being shot.

Upon arrival, officers learned that 47-year-old Mary Stuckey, and her son, 23-year-old Jordan Stuckey, were inside their residence when two unknown males reportedly kicked open the front door of their residence and entered. Once inside, one of the suspects allegedly demanded money.

A fight began reportedly between the suspects and the victims and one of the suspects next allegedly began shooting at Mary and Jordan as they attempted to run from the residence. Jordan Stuckey was struck in the shoulder and the thigh. Mary Stuckey was struck once in the lower back.

Mary, Jordan, and both suspects then ran out of the front door.

The suspects were last seen running from the residence and getting into a dark colored car believed to be a 1990s model Nissan Maxima that was parked on Rainbow Street located behind the residence.

One suspect is described as a black male approximately 20 to 30 years old, wearing a white shirt, white shoes, and brown shorts. The second suspect is described as a black male between 20 and 30 years old who was wearing a red-hooded shirt.

Mary was transported to Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas. Jordan was transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center at Hope. Both victims were later released from both hospitals.
