Some people believe that if you look at things in nature it can tell you what to expect weather-wise as far as the seasons are concerned. One such belief is what is inside a persimmon fruit when you cut it open. If the pattern inside the fruit is like a spoon, lots of snow is expected. If you see a fork, look for a mild winter. A knife shape is said to mean lots of icy winds to cut through you.

I have had several people say the persimmons have the spoon shape  look inside this year. I hope that is the case. I love snow and would not mind seeing more of it this coming winter.
