If you come to Sparks in the Park this Saturday you will notice a little something different around the stage area, a permanent roof with special lighting has been added to the outdoor stage and amphitheater area at the Fairgrounds.

The Four States Board of Directors teamed up with Texarkana  Arkansas’ s A & P Commission to build this state of the art professionally engineered addition.  They revamped the whole area to be more friendly to concert goers, special activities and events that will be using the stage and will be complimented even more with "On the Border" now being at the Oasis area next to the stage. Concert goers are asked to bring their folding chairs or blankets as the bleachers have been removed for more of an open space area.

The design of the roof will allow additional speakers and lighting for big concerts.  According to Brent Talley, CEO of the Four States Fairgrounds, long-term goals include expanding the area to include dressing rooms and restrooms.  There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30PM this Saturday, June 30, with the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce.

Local band Relentless will be the first band to christen the stage with its brand of Red Dirt Country and Southern rock. Opening ceremonies for Sparks in the Park begins at 6PM with Relentless to follow and the fireworks begin at 9:30PM. You can tune to our sister station Eagle 106-3 to hear patriotic music synchronized with the fireworks show.
