Outdoor Emergency Weather Sirens on City Board Agenda

The Texarkana Arkansas City Board of Directors meet tonight at city hall.The evening starts with a board workshop at 5:30 p.m. with the regular meeting getting underway at 6:30 p.m.

During the regular meeting the board will consider an ordinance to direct the city manager to enter into a contract to purchase four outdoor emergency weather sirens from Federal Signal Corporation.

Also, there will be a discussion item on the agenda. The city budget; the side no one wants to talk about. This has been placed on the agenda at the request of Assistant Mayor Laney J. Harris.

There will also be several presentations dealing with school issues and a proclamation to declare March as "Visit Your Schools" month.

There will be a closed executive session as well. The public is invited to attend the open portion of tonight's meeting.
