Neil Young has unveiled the first taste of his upcoming album, The Monsanto Years, and, as he hinted at recently, the song keeps with the album's more political bent. The song, "Rock Starbucks," is a take-down of coffee giant Starbucks.

He premiered about a minute of the video on Democracy Now! earlier today. You can watch it by skipping to the 26:35 mark on the above video.

This isn't the first time Young has slammed Starbucks. Last November he boycotted the java shop after it sued Vermont along with Monsanto, an agricultural and biotechnology company that works with GMOs, to overturn a state law that would force companies to identify genetically modified ingredients. He also wrote about his standing boycott on his website a couple weeks ago.

Young's new album, titled after the agricultural giant, supposedly will include other songs about environment offenders. He's joined on the record by Promise of the Real, a group featuring Willie Nelson's sons Lukas and Micah. They premiered some of the LP's new songs at a secret show in San Luis Obispo, Calif., on April 16. The Monsanto Years will be released on June 16.

Young will hit the road with the band a few weeks later and will play the state of Vermont for the first time ever. According to the Burlington State Press, Young's "first-ever concert in the Green Mountain State could be connected to Vermont's stance on genetically modified organisms."
