Miller county Authorities make an arrest in a theft case involving farm equipment.

Authorities say they were dispatched on Sunday, to a farm located on Hwy. 67 in Miller County in reference to a farm equipment theft.  Deputies determined that suspects had entered the farm area and removed over $125,000.00 worth of equipment, including a large tractor, pickup, 2 zero turn mowers and a trailer.  Miller County Sheriff’s Investigators responded to the scene and began their investigation.

On Monday, Miller County Investigator Sam McJunkins obtained Felony Warrants for 28 year old Zachary McMorris of Hope, Arkansas for Theft of Property and Breaking or Entering.

McMorris was arrested Tuesday in Sevier County, Arkansas on the Miller County Theft and B&E charges.  Subsequently recovered was the stolen pickup.  Working in conjunction with both Sevier County Sheriff’s Office and the McCurtain County Sheriff’s Office in Oklahoma, investigators recovered the John Deere tractor.  The trailer and one of the zero turn commercial mowers was recovered in Miller County. The second zero turn mower was recovered in Hempstead County.

McMorris is in the process of being returned to Miller County on the criminal charges, and over $125,000.00 worth of property has been recovered. The investigation into the theft continues, and additional arrests are anticipated
