Michael Wacha Promoted to the Big Leagues

The St. Louis Cardinals are promoting rookie right-handed pitcher Michael Wacha from Triple-A Memphis to start Thursday night's home game against the Kansas City Royals.Wacha, who is a Texarkana native and played for Pleasant Grove High School and later Texas A&M University will replace John Gast, who is on the disabled list.

The 6 foot 6 inch tall Wacha is currently 4-0 with a Pacific Coast league-leading 2.05 era according to the St. Louis Cardinals website.
