Chris Reed told us why Team Sumoas is so important to him and where the name came from:

I began this journey of helping promote the Relay For Life of Texarkana after my very good friend Michael "Sumo" Sams passed from this horrible disease back in 2009. His sister and my good friend who I consider family, Barbara Sams Walker, brought the idea forth that we create a team in his honor and be a part of this fight. The team name "Sumoas" couldn't have been more fitting, considering our initial inspiration behind it.

Lynda Harrison told us more about the event:

The March Masquerade celebrates the survivors and fighters of all cancers, and those in attendance will be recognized at the event on Saturday night. We hope that this will be our biggest to date, and we are looking forward to many years to come, because the more money we raise, and the more people become involved, the more birthdays we can give to parents, brothers and sisters, friends, and other loved ones!

The March Masquerade is sponsored by Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital of Texarkana, Red River Credit Union, Domtar, Cornerstone and TBS Industrial, Thompson Industrial Services and Scott Equipment.
