Major Accidents Snarling Traffic on Interstate 30 in Bowie County

The Texas Department of Public Safety is asking motorist to slow down and drive cautious on Interstate 30 in Bowie County in Northeast Texas after a series of major accidents.Authorities say if you can take Highway 82 or an alternate route between Texarkana and New Boston this morning that would be a good idea. The first major accident occurred in the eastbound lane of the Interstate near Leary. It was a one vehicle fatality accident.

The second major accident happened in the eastbound lane of the Interstate a little west of there at the 209 mile marker. The DPS has since said that several more accidents have occurred in that same general area, no word in which lane direction.

So once again, if you can avoid Interstate 30 between Texarkana, Texas and New Boston this morning that would be good. Otherwise slow down and drive carefully in those accident areas.
