An exciting new addition to U.A.C.C.H Texarkana campus.

The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope is pleased to announce that the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees recently approved UACCH’s proposed partnership with the University of Arkansas in Little Rock (UALR) to create an off-campus instructional center on the UACCH-Texarkana Campus.  This new partnership will include a physical presence of UALR on the Texarkana campus and enhance the College’s ability to better serve students from Miller and surrounding counties with Bachelor Degrees from UALR.  This unique partnership will start with the fall semester and be fully implemented in the Spring of 2015 with completion of a new building being constructed on the Texarkana campus.

UALR Chancellor Joel Anderson presented the proposal to the U of A Board of Trustees during the board’s meeting on the Hope campus on May 21.  Chancellor Anderson said the following about the new partnership, “I am impressed with the rapid development of the new Texarkana campus of the UACCH, and UALR is pleased to accept the invitation to be a partner in making four-year degrees more readily accessible to citizens in the Texarkana area.”

UACCH Chancellor Chris Thomason presented comments of support for the partnership to the U of A Board of Trustees by saying, “This partnership will expand the opportunity for the University of Arkansas System to provide a Bachelor Degree for Miller County and the surrounding area.  We are certainly pleased to bring UALR to our campus to provide our students this exceptional opportunity.  Our initial focus will be on academic programs designed for students with Associates of Applied Science degrees to complete a Baccalaureate Degrees.  Other priority programs may include general business, social work, and construction management.”

It is anticipated that the original offerings of this partnership will be expanded over time as student demand grows. For more information about the UALR Center, visit the UACCH website at www.uacch.edu.
