Legendary Blues Guitarist Johnny Winter Dead at 70

Johnny Winter, legendary blues guitarist, has passed away at the age of 70.

Winter’s death was first reported by Jenda Derringer, wife of Winter’s former bandmate Rick Derringer. Winter passed away in Zurich, Switzerland.

Hailing from Beaumont, Texas and known as one of the greatest slide guitarists ever, Winter was one of the most respected blues players throughout the decades.

Now a posthumous album, Johnny Winter will be joined by an all-star cast as part of a forthcoming blues-rocking studio effort titled “Step Back”, due out September 2nd.
