Texarkana Texas Police are looking for a bat wielding armed robber. Authorities were called last night to the 1600 Block of Spruce Street.

The victim says he was attacked by the suspect described as a short black male wh appeared to be in his mid twenties. The suspect took the victims watch and an undetermined amount of cash. A witness was also struck with the bat.

The suspect was last seen in the vicinity of West 17th street and Texas Boulevard. If you have any information on this supect and crime you are asked to call Texas Side Police Detectives at (903) 798-3170 or Texarkana Area Crimestoppers at (903) 793-stop.

The Miller County Judge has lifted the outdoor burn ban due to the recent rainfall .  However, the Judge warns conditions are not optimal for outside burning and to please use extreme caution and do not burn during high winds.

After the record hot summertime many are enjoying the cooler weather. Do not count Arkansas Cotton Farmers in that list. Cotton Farmers say they need warm days and overnight lows of at least 65 degrees for their crops to thrive.

The Texas Rangers begin a series tonight in Oakland against the A's. The Rangers begin play with a 5 game lead over the second place LA Angels in the American League West with a little under two weeks left in the regular season.
