Good Tuesday, Here are some stories making headlines today:

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of the area until 7 pm tonight.  Thunderstorms are possible particularly across the northern and eastern portions of the Four States Area.

The Texarkana Texas Independent School District meets this evening beginning at 6pm at the district services building in the 1600 block of Waterall Street. The board will consider approving the contract for the new superintendent Paul Norton. Norton was recently named superintendent to replace James Henry Russell who left to become President of Texarkana College.

The Board will also officially name Brad Bailey to become the new principal at Texas High School.

The Texas Legistlature is taking up the final items in the special session. Both the House and the Senate are conducting final votes on bills that maintain school funding and revamp a hurricane insurance program. Governor Rick Perry can call another session if lawmakers can not complete all the work on time.
