Good Monday, Here are some stories making headlines today:
The Texarkana, Arkansas City Board of Directors meets tonight at 7pm at City Hall for their regular session. The public is invited to the open portion of tonights meeting. The Board will consider an ordinance amending the code of ordinance regarding private club hours.
Mayor Smith has also requested an executive session at the end of tonights meeting.
Miller County Judge Larry Burgess has implemented an outdoor burn ban which will be in effect until we get appreciable rainfall. Dry and Hot and Windy conditions are making burning a very dangerous activity.
The Texas Department of Public Safety worked a fatality accident on U.S. Highway 82 in Bowie County yesterday. Troopers responded around 5:45 pm to the crash near FM 3419. Authorities say the vehicle was westbound when it left the roadway and overturned. The driver, 32 year old Tamra Stone, of Hooks Texas was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 52 year old passenger was transported to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana with possible life threatening head injuries.
