J.W.’s News Update: Wednesday November 9, 2011

A shooting incident in Texarkana, Texas sends two people to the hospital. Texas side police say they were called to the 3100 block of Meadows Drive early this morning in refernce to a shooting. Officers stopped a vehicle leaving the scene and found a victim with a gunshot wound to the chin.

Investigators say that while at the hospital another victim arrived from the same location with a gunshot wound to the hand. Authorities say another man who was the shooter is being sought by police.

Voters went to the polls in Arkansas yesterday and approved renewing a 575 million dollar bond issue to pay for improvements and repairs to over 400 miles of interstate highways in the state.

In Texas voters approved 7 out of the 10 consitutional amendments on the ballot.

In Sports:

Penn State Football Coach Joe Paterno says he will retire at the end of this season. Paterno says he is ” absolutely devestated” by the developments in the case of Jerry Sandusky a former defensive coordinator who is accused of molesting  eight boys over a 15 year period.
