The Texarkana Arkansas Police say one of their cruisers was involved in an accident. Authorities say two officers were headed north in the 800 block of East Street, when they were  struck by a vehicle exiting a business driveway. There driver of the car was cited for failure to yield and for no seatbelt.

Three juvenile girls and the two police officers were all taken to Wadley Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

The extreme and dangerous heat continues across the Four States Area. Excessive Heat Warnings are in effect through tommorrow for high temperatures expected to approach 110 degrees. Record highs and recorded  high minimune lows have been recorded over the past couple of days. The overall highest temperature recorded in Texarkana was a whopping 117 degrees set back on August 10, 1936.

Arkansas Finance officials say the state began its fiscal year with revenues coming in lower than they expected after a drop in sales tax collections. The Department of Finance and Administration said the state's net available revenues in July totaled $377 million dollars. That's $6.4 million above last year, but $2.4 million less than officials had forecast.
