The Texarkana Texas City Council met last night. The members approved a budget which includes a Cost of Living Adjustment for city employees and a property tax increase for homeowners.

The Circle J Cowboy Church in Texarkana has a special event coming up to benefit the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the Arkansas Childrens Hospital.

Its called the Toughest Cowboy/ Last Bullrider Standing. There will be no charge for admission but there will be a silent auction and donations are accepted. You are encouraged to wear your pink and show your support for cancer awareness. The event will take place at the Circle J Cowboy Church at 7pm on Saturday October 8th.

The Dallas Cowboys won their home opener last night against the Washington Redskins by a score of 18-16 on Monday Night Football on ESPN.
