Local law enforcement authorities are looking for a bank robber. The FBI and the Texarkana Arkansas Police are investigating the holdup that occurred yesterday around 2:30 at the Bancorp South in the 2200 block of North State Line Avenue. The suspect fled southbound on foot. He is described as a white male, medium build with a full beard, and was wearing a grey toboggan, dark sunglasses, and an off white Carhart jumpsuit. The suspect was said to be around 5’9” weighing between 175 and 195 pounds and it was noted that he spoke with a clear southern accent. Occupy Texarkana will be holding a demonstration in solidarity with Occupy Dallas and the Occupy Wall Street movement as a whole on Wednesday November 30th from 7am-5pm at the downtown Texarkana Post Office. The demonstration coincides with a general strike called for by the General Assembly of Occupy Dallas to protest unfair and abusive practices by corporations on both and individual and governmental level and the General Assemblyy of Occupy Texarkana joins in issuing this call and invites all who support the movement to participate throughout the day.
The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope is holding a Campus Creation Celebration and Steel Signing for the new instructional facility that is being built in Texarkana, Arkansas. The event will be held Wednesday November 30th at 12:30 p.m. at 3506 East 54th Street in Texarkana, Arkansas. This facility will be the 1st off-campus instructional facility for UACCH as well as the only two year Higher Education Institution in Texarkana, Arkansas.
