Texarkana College will host Bulldog Boot Camp for first time students this summer in preparation for the fall semester of 2011.

The new required student orientation, scheduled throughout the summer, will prepare students for the college experience by presenting occupational and career information, reviewing rules and procedures, sharing tips for college success, and familiarizing students with the new campus.

Dates for the boot camp range from July 12th to August 23rd. These are morning, midday, and evening sessions scheduled.

Crews continue to cleanup the mess from a train derailment in Little River County Arkansas. The derailment between Ashdown and Ogden left many rail cars and lots of coal dumped. Fortunately no one was hurt.

Casey Anthony, the Florida mom who was acquitted this week of charges she murdered her 2 year old daughter Caylee was sentenced today. The judge in the case gave her a year for each count of lying to investigators, but with time already served and good jail behavior she will be freed next Wednesday July 13th.

The NFL Labor talks continue today between the owners and players. The session comes exactly one month from the scheduled first pre season game, the Hall of Fame Game slated for August 7th and less than three weeks before training camps are scheduled to open.
