Texarkana Texas City Council to meet tonight. The council will take up various issues, including appointing two board members to the River Bend Water District. Also during an executive session the panel will  discuss the search process and qualifications as they begin the process of hiring a new City Manager. Current City Manager Larry Sullivan is leaving that position by no later than August of 2012.

Today is Cyber Monday, a day in which retailers and businesses across our area and the country hope you will purchase Christmas Gifts online. This follows Black Friday and Small Business Saturday as the Christmas Shopping Season gets into full swing. So far, sales are said to have increased by 7% over last year at this time.

More parents are opting out of school shots for their kids. An Associated Press analysis found that in eight states more than 1 in 20 public school kindergartners are not getting all the vaccines required fo attendance. That is because more parents are seeking exemptions so their children can skip some of the shots. Health experts are worried there could be outbreaks of diseases like measles and whooping cough. The biggest exemption rates are in the Upper Midwest and Western states with Alaska having the highest opt out rate at 9 percent.

In Sports:

Barring a loss by LSU to Georgia in the SEC Championship Game. The BCS Championship game in January will feature a re-match of the LSU-Alabama game. Arkansas could be headed to the Cotton Bowl in Arlington against either Kansas State or Oklahoma.
