The Texarkana Arkansas City Board of Directors meets tonight at city hall. The session begins at 6:45 with the City Employee Service Awards. The regular session begins at 7:o0 p.m. with a presentation by the City Grant Writer Mark Shoptaw concerning the recent 1st Annual Railfest Event in Downtown Texarkana.

The board will also conduct a public hearing concerning the condemnation of fourteen substandard structures. The public is invited to attend tonights meeting at city hall.

The 2011 Arkansas State Maps are now available from the Arkansas Staste Highway and Transportation Department. The maps may be obtained, at no charge, at any of the Highway Department's Districts Headquarters and at all Arkansas Welcome Centers or online at www.arkansashighways.com

The cover of the 2011 highway map features Highway 27 in Pope County. The map also includes messages from Governor Mike Beebe and the Arkansas State Highway Commission welcoming visitors to the state. More than one million maps are expected to be dsitributed free of charge to the public.

The Hoos Independent School District will be sponsoring the annual Summer Food Program this month. Breakfast will be served  from 7:30 to 8:30 and lunch from 11:30 to 12:30 Monday thru Thursday beginning Monday June 13th.

The meals are FREE to all children 18 years old and younger and there is no need to register. Meals will be served at the Hooks Junior High Campus 3921 FM 560 in Hooks, Texas. The program ends Wednesday June 29th.

In Sports:

The Pleasant Grove Boys High School Baseball Team is headed to Austin Texas for the Class 3A State Tournament. The Hawks will take on Robstown Wednesday afternoon at 4pm. The winner of that game will take on the winner of the other state semi-final matchup featuring Kennedale taking on Robinson. The State Championship game will be Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in Austin. Good Luck to the Hawks!!!!!!!!!!
