The Texarkana Texas City Council is getting geared up to find a replacement for City Manager Larry Sullivan whose time leading the city will end by August of next year. The council is holding a meeting this Wednesday December 14th at City Hall beginning at 5:30 pm. The council will consider an ordinance authorizing and approving a letter of understanding with Strategic Government Resources, Inc. to provide services in searching for a replacement for Sullivan.

 

As the holiday shopping season continues, all eyes will be on the Commerce Department tomorrow as the government releases the latest reports on Retail Sales and Business Inventories, while the Federal Reserve meets for the final time this year on interest rates. The Fed is not expected to move rates off their historic lows.

 

The True Meaning of Christmas will be highlighted tonight at  a Christmas Musical at County Avenue Baptist Church in Texarkana, Arkansas. Down From His Glory will be presented by the church adult choir with some help from the Children’s choir. The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend. There will be a nursery for the young children. It begins at 7pm tonight at the church on County Avenue in Texarkana, Arkansas.

 

 

In Sports:

The Dallas Cowboys manage to blow another late lead and fell to the N.Y. Giants at home last night 37-34. The Giants scored twice in the final 3:30 minutes then partially deflected a Dallas field goal that would have forced overtime. The Cowboys and Giants are now tied atop the NFC East, with the final regular season game to be played in early January in New York.
