A tragic accident involving a 4-wheeler in Cass County has claimed the life of a 4 year old Queen City girl. The Texas DPS says a 15 year old driver apparently hit a dog while driving on County road 3669 just west of highway 59. The ATV then struck a tree and both were thrown off the 4-wheeler. The driver was taken to a local hospital with a broken leg.
A section of Interstate 30 in Bowie County in Northeast Texas will be resurfaced next spring according to plans approved this month by the Texas Department of Transportation. They will be resurfacing an almost 15 mile section of the Interstate from FM 560 IN Hooks to the Arkansas State Line in Texarkana. Some of the old pavement will be removed, repairs made to some of the underlying materials then the entire roadway will be repaved. The project which will cost about $4.2 million dollars will begin in February and should by complete by the end of summer.
Consumer Prices stayed flat in November, the latest sign that inflation has cooled off. Energy costs dropped for the second straight month, which offset higher prices that Americans paid for food, clothes, and medical services.
