Good Friday, Here are some stories making headlines today:


The Gilmer Texas Police Department has a child abduction alert for a missing 13 year old girl. Authorities issued the Texas Amber Alert for 13 year old Jasmine Jenkins described as a black female 5'9" 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes wearing a yellow tank top with blue shorts.

Police are also looking for 27 year old Jonathan Darden a black male 6'0" tall, 180 pounds with black hair, brown eyes, wearing a gray t-shirt, black shorts, black nike shoes, he has a scar on his right knee and on his abdomen.

The suspect was driving a red 199 Honda Accord with a Texas License Plate number 099xks. The suspect was last heard from in Gilmer, Texas. The Texas Department of Public safety has investigated a fatal traffic on Interstate 30. Troopers say the accident occured in the east bound lane of the Interstate near mile marker 192. Authorities say a tractor tralor struck a pick-up truck and caused it to go into a side skid into the center median rolling over to the passenger side.

69 year old Christine Talent a passenger in the pick-up was transported to Christus St. Michael Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.


The Labor Department says the July jobless numbers actually improved a bit over June figures. Government officials say the unemployment rate ticked down from 9.2% in June to 9.1% in July.  Some 117,000 Private sector jobs were created. Both numbers were better than economist had predicted.
