The flu season is here and it's effecting even the relatively healthy this year. Normally the people most at risk are the very young and the elderly. But not this year. It's a big reminder that the flu is nothing to take lightly.

The flu seems to be hitting young and middle-aged adults the hardest this year, rather than seniors or children, said Dr. Michael Jhung, a medical officer in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Influenza Division.

This year it's the H1N1 flu  virus. The scary thing according to the CDC:

An estimated 6.9 percent of all deaths in the United States this season have been caused by flu or pneumonia -- just under the epidemic threshold of 7.1 percent. Ten children have died from the flu so far this season.

If you haven't gotten the Flu Shot yet, it's not to late! Getting the shot will help you against the flu. Even if you still get the flu, the shot will make it not as severe as it could be.
